If you are a newbie in the cat world, I hope this makes the task of cleaning the litter boxes a little easier! Clean litter boxes are the easiest way to prevent non-medical urination issues. Besides the cleanliness, the number of litter boxes is also very important. As a rule of thumb, you should have the number of cats, plus one in litter boxes. So, if you have two cats, you should have three boxes. You should clean your box at least once a day. You can replace the litter completely according to the instructions, or do like I do - just when the cats start rejecting it, which is never, if you keep in the habit of cleaning it well and often. It surely saves you some money! Well, without further ado, here you go: My beautiful foster girl Hope 08/25/2009
So sleepyyyyyyy....... 08/25/2009
Describe your state of mind in a word: Sleepy. Uh... maybe because.... uh..... you haven't really "taken the time" to sleep? uh... Carolina, it is 4:30 am, you might say..... Shhhhhhhh! My best friend Carla is BACK IN AMERICA!!!!! Woohoo!!!!! Carla has been my best friend for over 25 years - through thick and thin, we even moved to the US together! She had been in Brasil for the last 3-4 years, and finally came back a couple of weeks ago... I am so happy! She is living in Baltimore, but it is awesome to know she is here anyways... It is always wonderful to be close to your roots! She is getting married soon, and I just can't wait to see her again - we have lots to talk and to laugh about! Carla is that inseparable friend that you have when you are when you are a child... We went to school together, played volley together, hung out together, and later moved out of the country together... One thing that we do well is LAUGH... God... WE LAUGH! But but but, enough about me, right? You guys really want to know about the kitties? Well, not much going on on their lives...... Lucky has been in the process of coughing up a hairball for about a week - yes, a week! That is because she is a lady, and she needs to do it with sloooowly, with much grace! I can't wait to find this darn hairball somewhere around the house! She didn't cough today, so there is a possibility that she has put it out... Bugsy and Hope are both fine; Bugsy more and more loving by the day... And so is Hope! They are all very much spoiled, and rightly so, right?! I will post pictures of the kid tomorrow - nighty nite!!! Gimme that tail! 08/23/2009
This one will be about me :) 08/22/2009
Yep - since my name is also on the site, this post will be about me ;-). You might be thinking I have a pretty good reason to do that, but nope, not really... It's been a trying time for a little while in my life... I am unemployed, like millions of Americans, looking for a job, and trying to keep my life afloat... I will tell you, even if the kitties cost some money, I truly don't know what I would do without them! Am I depressed? No... But I am surely not jumping up and down either! I spent a long time on my site today, just fixing it up here and there... adding the camera and the chat, etc - I still need to get a better camera, but I will not be able to afford it for a while - when unemployed, food comes first! Whatelse, whatelse? Have been having migraines pretty frequently, almost daily :( Today I got a package from my mom in Brazil, with my prescription meds woohoo!!!!!!!!!!! I got both for a prophylactic treatment, andfor crisis - I think I am going to be well for a while now! Thank you mom!!! I can't wait to have health insurance again! Also had a chat with my dad on MSN - he is doing good, thank God! Grandma is great too, and so is everybody else.... I love them SO MUCH! OK folks - I gotta go to bed.... It's 4 am here, and I am about to crash! Pictures of the kitties will come soon - I promise! Furry paws! 08/20/2009
Is there anything cutter than this??? I think NOT!!!! This is what I usually see when I look up from my couch - bugsy's little paw is always hanging out of the shelves :) Bugsy got on the scale today - 17.8 lbs... His goal is 15lbs, but the vet said that if I can feel his ribs when petting him, that's a good weight. He is already on a grain free diet, so now I am adding fiber to his wet food (along with water, of course), and trying to get him to eat more wet, instead of dry. The dry food machine is releasing about 3/4 cup a day, for both Bugsy and Lucky; they are getting a little less than 1/2 cup each if you divide it equally, but since Bugsy is eating more and more wet, my hope is that Lucky is getting the bigger share of dry food. Little Hope doesn't eat dry food; I am happy to feed her all wet, but I think I might need to downgrade her food quality a bit... At least for now....... I will check the options at walmart tomorrow, to see if there is anything 1/2 decent to feed her... Anyways............. The trials of a meowmy to a fat cat, a skinny and finicky foster, and a normal weight but extremely finicky one continues!! Attention Grabbing for Dummies 08/15/2009
