Hello Furriends, Bugsy here!
This was a scary weekend furriends! We had lots of thunders, rain, and to make matters worst, the lady with the vacuum monster came over again!  Definitely the best place to nom nom on some tasty stinky goodness this weekend was under mewomy's bed! Gotta say, meowmy did a pretty god job catering to us during this frightening times... I wonder if we should make that a habit!
By the way, I am doing really well! I am starting to love my stinky goodness with that cranberry thing meowmy is mixing in it and happy to say this Saturday marked two weeks since my UTI scare - I am peeing like a champ! Meowmy is watching me really close and even though I miss some dry food, if that's what it takes to make me be healthy, I will keep on eating food from the can... It is not too bad after all... I am still pooping kind of weird, but meowmy is not too worried about it, since I am eating well, drinking, playing, and very very happy - she doesn't want to give me any more meds, thank goodness! She thinks it is from the antibiotics I took for the UTI and the C/D food I tried, combined with my IBD - bad combo! Slowly but surely I am getting all better!
As humans like to say, one day at a time...

Hi, Meowmy here!
Just to report Bugsy is doing great!
He did have a little throw up episode yesterday morning, but he is fine now. He had his last pill Saturday, thank goodness!
His bottom is still sore, "thanks" to Clavamox, but he is now on the emergency dose of Bene-bac; it should make him feel better in no time.
Aside from that, he is peeing like a champ, eating all the wet food he can, playing, and being my loverboy he has always been!
I also started Bugsy on a supplement called Cranberry relief, with the approval of his vet, and from now on will make sure Feliway is always on the walls.
I just hope we don't go through this again any time soon!

Hi Furriends!
I am finally feeling better to start typing on the bloggie again! I got pretty sick for a while there furriends... But I don't know who was worst, me or meowmy, she was pretty freaked out... Poor meowmy was crying all night with me at the ER V-E-T, almost as much as I was...
Anyways, I think I have never eaten so much stinky goodness in my LIFE! Meowmy doesn't want me eating dry food anymore, so she is feeding me many meals a day of stinky goodness. She bought some new food for me, called C/D, but I didn't like it too much, so she said she will start adding cranberry relief to my food instead - I don't know, but that doesn't sound too tasty to me... We will see... If she mixes a little bit of the C/D on the Z/D (my regular food) I will eat it, but just a little... Otherwise I don't like it too much :)
Besides that, I am doing better... I don't feel like going to the box all the time anymore, which is good, that was quite uncomfortable!
The only thing is that now I have a sore bottom from all the diarrhea (sorry furriends) from the nasty antibiotics... Yep, I can barely sit LOL! But soon it will end and meowmy already has Bene-bac ready for me here... she knows it doesn't work well while I am on antibiotics, but she started to give me anyways... I guess it won't hurt... I can't wait to stop taking all these meds - taking medicine once a day for me teeth was enough already... Now I need to take that plus two pills a day *sigh*...
Saturday Morning is my last pill, and I am back to my routine!

Thank you so much for all the purrs and good wishes, Bugsy and I really appreciate it.... and I think they are working!
Had a visit with my vet yesterday - didn't take Bugsy with me, but wanted to sit down with him, take the X-ray for him to take a look at, and discuss Bugsy's situation in length.
First let's talk about the X-Ray: The ER vet had thought his kidney looked a little weird on the first x-ray, but on the second one, it came completely normal... She thought it might be a matter of positioning during the procedure, but she wanted me to take it to him to discuss. He said it looked normal, really could not see anything out of the ordinary, and that it didn't look like I should be concerned.
On to the UTI: He thinks that what he has is cystitis/inflammation brought on by stress, which does make a LOT of sense.
I left to Florida Monday, and my friend Donna, stayed here in my house through Thursday - she was a new person, who he had never seen... She got here right before I left for a whole week. When I left in the morning he was acting absolutely strange, completely freaked out... I had never seen him so stressed like that in my life... He kept running to me and away from me completely confused, as though he didn't know who I was... Maybe because I slept on the couch and she on my bed with him... I don't know...
That week he spent alone with Donna and Kelly, the pet sitter. They are both huuuuge pet lovers.... but were not me. They said he was completely happy throughout the week though... I got home Friday night, and disaster stroke Saturday night. Maybe it was just too much stress with me coming and going and new people in the house...
The feliway was late to get in the mail, so only got here on Wednesday or Thursday...
Anyway... The vet also said what makes he thinks this is cystitis/inflammation, is the fact that he is urinating blood. The antibiotic, he says, is not to cure an infection at this point, but to prevent an opportunistic infection that might occur due to the broken capillaries on his bladder/urinary tract, so Clavamox will do just fine. The plan is, if he continues to pass blood by Wednesday, he will go in for a steroid shot to bring the inflammation down.
The vet's main concern is his future bladder health -he said he is not too concerned about this episode, but since he does have immune mediator disorders, such as his stomatitis and IBD, he might be prone to cystitis as well - he NEEDS to be in a bladder health diet.
I discussed with him the fact of Bugsy being allergic to chicken, and he said this is secondary now - his bladder is more important, as this can kill him, and can kill him fats if he gets blocked.
So.... We agreed to try the CD seafood wet first and see how he does on it...
I bought some to see if he likes it and how he reacts to it... crossing my fingers all is going to be well...
I also read a lot of good reviews on Cosequin being good on preventing cystitis and UTIs, so I am going to add that to his diet as well...
I now need to work on putting Lucky on a schedule so I don't have dry food laying around and can feed them all 2 meals a day - I have some time to do that, thankfully!
Anyways... please send purrs vibes for him to continue to improve until later today (Wednesday) so we don't need to go back in.
I do not see him going to the litter box much which concerns me a little, but I think he is probably going while I am sleeping or working, and I am just not fast enough to get to him. His belly does not feel swollen or tender, and he is not showing any signs of being blocked.
As I typed this he just peed a completely normal, blood free pee for meowmy to go to bed happy! That's my boy!
I hope this is the first and the last time we go though this scary scary thing!

Hi, Meowmy here...
Bugsy is not doing so good... In the middle of the night from Saturday to Sunday I noticed him going in and out of the litter box, and some pink which I thought to be blood in the box - he could not pee... I immediately ran away to the ER vet just to find out he had blood everywhere... on his tail, his male parts, his belly... It was very very scary :(
The ER Vet was not able to squeeze his bladder for a urine sample, so I agreed to take an x-ray to check for blockage - his badder was really small which indicated only and UTI. She said the blood could be from inflammation on the bladder walls due to the UTI, or external, due to him licking himself, but it is not too uncommon.
The first x-ray also showed something she was a "little" concerned about his kidney, and told me to get a full blood panel. His second x-ray however came completely normal, so she said it could be the positioning... I am taking it to his vet regardless - he had a full blood test recently before his dental work and it was all normal, so I am not too concerned about it.
She wanted to give him a shot of Metacam, which I refused. She gave him a morphine derivative shot instead. The idea is to relax him enough for him to be able to pee.
He is now on Clavamox for the next 7 days, and Buprenex for the next 2 days. If he is not considerably better in 48 hours we need to go in again...
Aside from that, more wet food, less dry...
I can't put him in urinary food as he is allergic to chicken, so out of luck there... This was my worse fear... God, I was so afraid of ever crossing this bridge...
I left a message to his regular vet, and I am inclined to take him in tomorrow for an urinalysis, as I want to be sure I am giving him the right medication... At this point I am also not sure if he has crystals, and of course it would be highly beneficial to know...
He is peeing, but is still dripping blood when he jumps off the box... My poor little baby :(

As you can see from the picture, I am alive and well... Got to say I started the day very confused and a little disappointed... Imagine my surprised when I jumped on bed last night to cuddle and sleep, only to find a very blond, very short haired, and very NOT YOU, Miss D. sleeping on my bed instead!
Meowmy, let's get this straight: I authorized you to let her sleep there tomorrow... you know I don't take sudden changes very well... The Feliway hasn't even arrived on the mail yet - I was just not psychologically ready for that - a-t a-l-l. You seem to think that bed is yours.... Hell-o-o! Reality check!
Ok, ok, let's give it to Miss D.... She is a pretty good cuddlier... Did you notice I did not go sleep on the couch with you?
Now, my biggest disappointment was that you were supposed to go bye bye today, not yesterday... What happened? We were waiting and waiting and waiting.... And you never came back... Only when we saw Kelly coming to pet sit us at night we realized you are not coming home tonight... :( That's really too bad, we miss you!
Meowmy, we really do like this arrangement actually! Miss D. plays and cuddles with us, and she is really really nice... She makes a very nice pillow at night - I am very satisfied for the time being and I approve of your decision of leaving us with her whenever you go out of town... Having Kelly visit us everyday on the top of it... the icing on the cake! We are getting spoiled big time! Hummmm.... Maybe you should stay an extra day....
Kidding meowmy, we love and miss you, and can't wait for you to get back! Until then, we promise to allow Miss D. the Honor of our company, of petting and playing with us, and of our best licks and purrs!

Hi Furriends, Bugsy here!
I am sleeping while I can... The "lady" with the vacuum monster is coming over again furriends *sigh*... I don't know why meowmy insists in having her over... So what if the house is a mess? Who cares? We certainly don't! We already told meowmy over and over again - litter box is clean, food is served on time, meowmy is playing with us... it's all good!
Oh, and there is more! Meowmy said she has a furriend coming over to stay a whole week in the house! Well well, that's going to be interesting.... There are rumors this hooman is going to sleep on meowmy's bed, and meowmy is going to sleep either on the couch or on the airbed in the living room. That is very confusing for me, you see? This is the first time we have other hooman over, and I am not too sure what to think about... Meowmy says not to worry, this hooman loves cats, and has 2 of her own...
To make matter worse (yeah, it gets worse) meowmy is going out of town Tuesday, and will leave the hooman with us - a-l-o-n-e!!! Oh boy... Furriends, I don't know what to think... I don't know if you should pray for us, for meowmy, or for this hooman, for that matter. Well, pray for us, furriends - we are the most impawtant part in this matter, of course!

Oh this is surely a Thankful Thursday! Look what we got in the mail - our very own Blankie meowmy won at the auction in memory of Sweet Coco made by Peggy Kitty Blankies!
It is so soft, cozy and pretty! Meowmy loved it too! She says it is her favorite color, and it fits her decor purrfectly..... Right, right meowmy... Don't you go getting funneh ideas... you see, the blankie is kitteh sized!
