Bugsy update 04/09/2011

Hi Furriends, Meowmy here!
I am now back home after spending most of the week in Florida, on a Business trip... It broke my heart to leave Bugsy still going through his recovery, but I knew he couldn't be in better hands. Kelly, who is also a vet tech at the Dentist clinic he goes to, is my pet sitter and she is my angel on earth - I do not know what I would do without her! She absolutely adores my babies, and they just love her back... She sleeps most of the nights here with them, otherwise comes in either 2 or 3 times a day, so they are rarely alone - this arrangement gives me so much peace of mind and allows me to do my job without losing my mind over guilt!
Anyways, back to Bugsy - He is doing GREAT! Like nothing ever happened!
I left on the 5th day after the surgery - it was a bit earlier than recommended, but I decided to leave kibbles out to make sure he would have enough to eat since I would no longer be able to feed him around the clock. He also had to take a couple more days of injections, and frankly, I was glad Kelly was going to be the one doing it - Bugsy HATED the injections....
I left with a great deal of worry, but got home to four happy, healthy kitties who were not stressed out at all! They immediately followed me around the house, and Bugsy hasn't stopped following me ever since :)
I am just so glad to be home with my babies, and so relieved they are all ok!
Thank you so much for all the prayers and purrs, they are really appreciated!

Are We a "Normal Family"? 03/05/2011

Hello furriends, Lucky here!
After five days, we finally got the hooman (aka Meowmy) to type. She says she has been so busy with work and everything else in her life right now that she really hasn't had to time to update our bloggie... I say she just doesn't know how to prioritize her life... After all, what can possibly be more important than US? Of course nothing! Can you believe she was working the other day until 2 am? TWO in the morning! Not fun!
Anyways, our apologies furriends - without opposable thumbs there is really nothing we can do besides wait on her to type our thoughts - sigh.
Well, on another note, today we have a "Philosophical Question" for you all that has to do with the picture below:

So, as the picture says, all our siblings have paws; none of us are bean babies. All of us have fur and spit hairballs.
There are four of us fur-kids, "raised" by a single-meowmy. Like in a bean family, our toys are in the living room, and we rule the house - the difference is they cry and we meow; we consider our way far less annoying. Our home is adapted to our needs - we have shelves on the walls, a big bed where we let meowmy sleep with, a place to fit our bathrooms, etc. You walk through the doors you definitely know it is a cat house... Meowmy makes sure we are entertained, put it that way.
So, here is the Philosophical Question:
Are we a "Normal Family?"
Is it "Normal" to have "so many" fur-kids and none bean babies? (not that we think it isn't, obviously)
Could Meowmy be replacing a "Normal Family" with us?
Is she, herself, "Abnormal" for having fur-kids and not bean-babies?
Has your meowmy ever been called abnormal for having too many fur-kids? If so, how did she react, and what was her response to that comment?
Sadly furriends, this is not just out of curiosity, this has happened to Meowmy, and has sadden her a bit... Not that it has changed at all how she feels about us, or anything like it, but she thought it was an unnecessary comment... So now she is curious to know if others go through the same thing and how do they deal with it?

Hi Furriends, Lucky here!
Whew, the weekend is finally here! Thank Goodness furriends! Meowmy has been working so much she hasn't had a lot of time to play with us these days.... Oh well... She says she has to do this to get us nom-noms and stuff. Purrsonally I think she can do a lot better on the playing department; I thing it might be time for an intervention. Let's hope she does better next week - for now we are already enjoying some free time with her.... purrr........ so good!

Hello Furriends, Gracie here!
Meowmy had an awful migraine today and spent the day on bed, so I offered to cover for her at the office... It was a busy day! It makes it harder not having opposite thumbs, but I was able to answer the phone with the help of the speaker key and my beautiful meow-meows, and most importantly, I kept the seat warm and comfy for her tomorrow.
It's been fun, in fact, I am not really sure I want to give her seat back... I look pretty good in it, don't you think?

Hi furriends, Lucky here!
So, is this the look of tiredness or boredom? If you guessed boredom, you guessed right furriends... It is just that meowmy has been working so so much for the last few days that we kitties feel a little left out ("little" is really an understatement furriends)... We know she has to work to buy our stinky goodness, pay our vet bills (well, mostly Bugsy's and Hope's, I gotta say), buy our toys, and do all the things she does to spoil us, but sometimes we just miss her, you know? At least she works at home, but sometimes it feels like she is many many miles away...
Well... Hope things slow down bit so she can cuddle and play a little more with us everyday!

Dearest meowmy,
As you can see from the picture, I am alive and well... Got to say I started the day very confused and a little disappointed... Imagine my surprised when I jumped on bed last night to cuddle and sleep, only to find a very blond, very short haired, and very NOT YOU, Miss D. sleeping on my bed instead!
Meowmy, let's get this straight: I authorized you to let her sleep there tomorrow... you know I don't take sudden changes very well... The Feliway hasn't even arrived on the mail yet - I was just not psychologically ready for that - a-t a-l-l. You seem to think that bed is yours.... Hell-o-o! Reality check!
Ok, ok, let's give it to Miss D.... She is a pretty good cuddlier... Did you notice I did not go sleep on the couch with you?
Now, my biggest disappointment was that you were supposed to go bye bye today, not yesterday... What happened? We were waiting and waiting and waiting.... And you never came back... Only when we saw Kelly coming to pet sit us at night we realized you are not coming home tonight... :( That's really too bad, we miss you!
Meowmy, we really do like this arrangement actually! Miss D. plays and cuddles with us, and she is really really nice... She makes a very nice pillow at night - I am very satisfied for the time being and I approve of your decision of leaving us with her whenever you go out of town... Having Kelly visit us everyday on the top of it... the icing on the cake! We are getting spoiled big time! Hummmm.... Maybe you should stay an extra day....
Kidding meowmy, we love and miss you, and can't wait for you to get back! Until then, we promise to allow Miss D. the Honor of our company, of petting and playing with us, and of our best licks and purrs!

Easy like Sunday... 3am Kneading fits 07/11/2010

Hi, Bugsy Here!
Sometimes I go into these 3am kneading fits on meowmy's arm, chest, or belly... this video is a demonstration on my kneading skills on her arms. Please forgive the poor video quality as it was taken from meowmy's cell phone and meowmy's groggy voice and accent - I tried, but she was just not professional enough. She kept giving me these excuses, saying it was late, and blah blah blah - humans, you know? Oh well, they will just never be as sophisticated as us kitties, I have to get to used to that fact......................
Anyway, do you like honoring your humans with mid of the night kneading too? It is only special if you have sharp claws, and during the week, of course - they make great animated scratching posts during those times!

Bugsy says it is his bed, and with all that cuteness, who says it ain't so?

Hello folks, Bugsy here!
This is our bed... at least meowmy thinks so! In reality, it is MY bed, which I graciously share with her... It is a queen size after all, and meowmy is nice enough to keep herself on her side and not bother my beauty sleep too much...
No... Just kidding folks... I looooove cuddling with meowmy at night and in fact I sleep right by her neck. I purr and purr and purr! She says it is the best thing ever, she calls me her big white fluffy sleeping pill! She is funny! Hey, whatever I can do to make meowmy's life better, and give her a better day and week I will do! And if that is as easy as sleeping and cuddling.... wow! (man, it is good to be a cat or what?!)
I hope you and your humans have excellent weeks and had wonderful holidays!

Bugsy - must hide from the vacuum monster!

Hello friends Bugsy here!

Interesting things have been going on since meowmy got a J-O-B... Well... For one thing, this lady mom calls an Angel but quite frankly, I don't know how she can be an angel coming to our house and moving everything around, and gasp, using this LOUD vacuum monster for so long e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e. I am so sorry meowmy, that is no angel in our book! Gee, we were freaking out all day long! There was not enough Feliway that could take care of the matter, that woman was an in-house hurricane! And to think that meowmy spent her hard earned FIRST salary with her... and was haaaaaappppppyyyy about it? Sheesh... Humans! Go figure!

The only good thing that came out of it is that apparently the “angel” tossed my Cat grooming bag on the trash by mistake, so hehe no medicine for me tonight! Ha! The joke is on who, who?

Meowmy was looking for this thing everywhere….. Didn’t find it! I swear I didn’t hide it! I know tomorrow I will take my med wrapped in a towel, and I HATE that but at least tonight I am home free. Meowmy already ordered another one… well, nothing is perfect!

So I heard “Angel” Aida is coming over again this weekend to organize the house… Thank goodness I have a great hiding spot… which so happens to be right next to the Feliway outlet – I guess I will be ½ fine!

Humans… All they should care for is a clean litter box! (ours, of course hehe)
