Cat Food - Meowmy\'s Survey 10/24/2009
As you kitties know... cat nutrition is a very touchy subject... Most of the times we want to eat one thing, our meowmies want to feed us another... the vet tell them to give us something else, then they go on the internet and read something different.... Oh my goodness! So much information out there, it is not even funny! Here in our house for example: Kitty Lucky Eats only dry food, meowmy tried EVERYTHING, and she will not eat stinky goodness - for her there is no goodness in the stinky! Bugsy, is allergic to chicken, and because of him we all eat a mixture of Orijen 6-fish and Acana Grassland. For wet he eats Tiki Cat - Tuna tuna tuna... He likes a bit of sardines too, but his favorite Tiki is tuna. He also eats a bit of Natural Balance Venison and Pea... Hope eats all wet - Ziwipeak, her favorite flavors are venison and fish and venison. She also gets a little of the ziwipeak "dry" (kind of a jerky meat) throughout the day as a snack... Complicated, huh? So.... meowmy was wondering if you would take a few seconds to answer our food survey? Thanks thanks thanks! Oh, and feel free to come back here to answer to this survey at any time!! ( Meowmy here) BTY: Survey accepts multiple answers, so if different kitties in the household eat different diets, like in my house, feel free to mark all the answer - i.e.: I marked: dry only for Lucky, Combination for Bugsy and Wet Only for Hope. CommentsSat, 24 Oct 2009 2:04:59 am We did the survey and it seems that we, like all the other cats, have a combination of wet and dry! Sat, 24 Oct 2009 2:22:39 am My Mommeh has been learning a lot about cat nutrition because of Harley's eosinophilic granuloma complex. We are both finally completely off the dry food. We eat Nature's Variety frozen raw medallions. I will only eat the rabbit and chicken flavor, but Harley will also eat beef and venison. Sat, 24 Oct 2009 3:05:01 am I have wet food, and as a treat, I love to get dry biscuits. I don't get special treat biscuits, as dry biscuits are yummy enough for me! Sat, 24 Oct 2009 3:53:40 am We mostly get Wellness Dry. Mom splits a can of stinky goodness between the four of us as a treat. Sat, 24 Oct 2009 5:28:09 am We are mostly "dry" food, sometimes a spoonful of wet food as an evening treat... and lots of temptations and pounce and party mix in between. Sat, 24 Oct 2009 6:33:39 am We eat a combination of canned and dry but mom will only feed us grain-free foods. Ernie has allergies so he hasta eat special foods. Mom thinks canned food is better for us but we like to eat some dry too... Sat, 24 Oct 2009 7:18:12 am I know what you means -- it's all very confusing! But then they do the same kind of thing with human food. It seems what you were told was good for you in the past, isn't any longer -- and I'm sure they'll change their minds again. Sat, 24 Oct 2009 7:52:53 am Mommy found that too much stinky goodness makes bad stinky come out of our bums, followed by diarrhea. SO, she doesn't like giving lots of stinky goodness. We get dry everyday, and then on wednesdays & saturdays (twice a week) we get stinky goodness in another bowl next to our reg. food. So, we eat the stinky first, then we eat our dry. it's lovely. This keeps our GI tract in a happy condition. Sat, 24 Oct 2009 10:20:01 am I put in my vote! Sat, 24 Oct 2009 11:29:08 am Our mom would love to get us on raw food, but we don't have access to it here and the shipping is very expensive. So, instead she feeds us a really good grain-free food. We get a little wet food from time to time as a treat. Sat, 24 Oct 2009 1:47:19 pm Well, you can't spell "finicky" without "N-I-C-K-Y", and our little black man cat keeps us off balance. For now, he is eating Fancy Feast (wet) and Healthful Life (dry). Lizzie eats anything, and Caitie is somewhere in between. Sat, 24 Oct 2009 4:32:46 pm Due to the vet telling Mom we needed to lose weight, we only get diet dry food. Every now and them Mom will slip us a little wet. Sat, 24 Oct 2009 8:10:33 pm At my age (18 1/2 years old) I don't worry a whole lot about nutrition anymore. I'm not supposed to eat a lot of dry food because it sort of plugs me up these days, but Mom still lets me have a little of it since I like it so much. Mom lets me have lots of whipped cream (the kind in the can) since she figures these days, it's probly not gonna kill me and I might just as well enjoy the days i have left. Sun, 25 Oct 2009 12:04:53 am My five cats have all different tastes, but there is no problem. Pookie and Rosie only eat dry food nothing else. Arthur and Kim eat both and old Lisa who has no teeth anymore only wet food of course. Your comment will be posted after it is approved. Leave a Reply |
