RIP Gracie

Gracie just passed.... at 3:48 am.... I am just coming back from the ER vet....
She had a strange attack tonight after going to the litterbox... It was not trying to breathe.... This was her heart that was too weak I think... She would start jumping/jerking her legs at each heart beat... I calmed her down in a few minutes... She got better and moved to the corner.... She then screamed a couple of times - that's when I ran with her to the ER vet that's only a couple of blocks away.... I don't think I even had my seatbelts on... But it was too late, they entubated her, but they said she was pretty much gone on arrival...
I just feel awful.... I feel she suffered so much for nothing.... And in the end, she died in the ER room, away from her mommy...
I love you Gracie.... I am so sorry..... I will never, Ever forget you sweet girl.... You will be loved forever.....

Oh no, we are so sorry about Gracie. She was very lucky that she had you to work so very hard to try to make her feel better. She had lots of love and a good home and thank heavens you took her in when those other people threw her out. Sending lots of purrs and hugs. Take care.

We are so sorry to hear that Gracie has passed over to Rainbow Bridge. The fact that everything happened so quickly must have been such a shock and also not being with her at her passing is upsetting. Take care and give your other furries lots of hugs.

My heart is absolutely breaking for you. I'm so, so sorry....Gracie now is free of pain and suffering and at peace, but I know there isn't much peace for those of us who are left behind to mourn.

Dear Carolina,
I don't know why you would feel bad. It doesn't seem to me that you have anything to be sorry about. Until the end, Gracie was in her home, loved in a way any cat would give anything to be. When I read your blog, the love that you have for your kits is obvious.I am sure it is more-so to the kits.

We heard about Gracie's passing from Ann at Zoolatry, and though we don't know you and have not visited your blog before, we wanted to stop by and offer our condolences on your loss. Gracie was a beautiful girl, and as heartwrenching and abrupt as her leavetaking from you was, I have to believe that she knew, always and especially at the end, how very much you loved her.

I'm very sorry to hear about Gracie. Don't distress yourself that she died away from you. She knew you were there when it counted, and the doctor said she was 'gone on arrival', so she passed away with you after all. We can never know how much medical care to give our pets. Sometimes it doesn't work but we have to try when we think it will. You did everything you could for her. Her memory will make her immortal now.

I am so sorry to hear that Gracie has gone to the bridge. Tears are flowing down the mom's face as she is typing for me. Our hearts are heavy with sadness. You will be in our throught and prayers as you go through this hard time. Forever she will be with you in your thoughts and heart. Opus was waiting for her along with his brother Roscoe and her other friends that have gone before her so she wouldn't be alone. Some day you will see her again. Just so sorry.

We heard from Zoolatry about your loss.We wanted to offer our condolences.We lost our Lewis last March very suddenly and he died alone at the vet's too.I prefer to believe he was surrounded by all the love we had for him and that that love protected him and carried him to the afterlife.I believe he really wasn't alone.I'd like to think the same of your Angel Gracie. That she had all your love for her, with her. That she was surrounded and carried by it.

I am so sorry for your loss. It is never easy, but to see your baby in pain and then not to be with her when she went is heart breaking. The Vet did every thing they could for her and made her as comfortable as possible. My heart goes out to you. We are sending purrs and prayers to you and your other three furbabies.

I too am very sorry for your loss. Losing a beloved kitty is never easy. You did what you thought was best for her.

While you weren't there when her body finally stopped, I have heard from many animal communicators that cats have a tendency to leave their body as they are preparing to die - testing it out if you will. Since the ER said she was "pretty much gone on arrival" she probably was with you and not her body. Your love is what she will take with her, and your compassion she will always be thankful for.

May time ease the pain and bring back the happy joyful times.

We are so sorry for your loss. We know what it is to regret not being with a loved kitty when they pass, but you can not beat yourself up over that. You did all you could, and Gracie knew she was loved. That is what is important. She had what so many deserving animals never know - a good home with people who loved her. We hope one day, when the time is right, you find another kitty to love. It won't be the same, but it will be good. We are purring for you.
